Through our wraparound therapeutic model, Homeboy Industries provides services for nearly 9,000 people per year in the Los Angeles community. Our ability to thrive as an organization is closely connected to our grassroots ties in the Los Angeles area. Because of that, free services are prioritized for those in our immediate community. Should you need help in an area outside Los Angeles, contact your local community resources.

Tattoo Removal
At Homeboy Industries, tattoo removal is a free service provided to trainees, community clients, and minors who have gang related or visible tattoos located on the hands, neck, or face. If you meet this criteria, you can make an appointment by calling our main number at (323) 526-1254 then PRESS 2 to reach our front desk or come down to our office and speak to someone directly. Educational Assistance
Our Education Department offers a number of classes open to both 18-month program participants and Community Clients. The classes include:
- GED Prep
- Adult Continuation, High School Diploma
- Literacy Support
- Pathways to College
- Tutoring
To enroll in any of these classes, you must visit our office to sign up.
To receive prompt support from our Education Department, it is important for people to come prepared with:
- Academic Transcripts/Documentation
- Knowledge of past high schools and foster care/placements (if applicable)
If these documents are not present, our team can assist in retrieving academic documentation (i.e. transcripts, IEPs, proof of foster care/placement, and GEDs/Diplomas received). Click here to learn more about educational classes.
Batterer’s Intervention: 52 Weeks
Court Mandated: To sign up, please bring your current, up-to-date Minute Order AND your Restraining/Keep Away Order.
- DCFS Mandated: To sign up, please bring your Referral from your Social Worker stating the number of classes that must be completed AND your Restraining/Keep Away Order.
Once you have the appropriate documentation, please bring it down to our office and our Mandated Coordinator team will have you fill out an application. At that time, you will receive an intake date which is typically 3-7 business days from your sign-up date.
Fees are $30 for the intake process and $20 per class. Please note, class size is limited and availability is on a first come/first serve basis.
Anger Management: 26 Weeks
- Court Mandated: To sign up, please bring your current, up-to-date Minute Order AND your Restraining/Keep Away Order.
- DCFS Mandated: To sign up, please bring your Referral from your Social Worker AND your Restraining/Keep Away Order.
Parenting Classes: 15 Weeks
- 15 Weeks Only
- Court Mandated: To sign up, please bring your current, up-to-date Minute Order
- DCFS Mandated: To sign up, please bring your Referral from your Social Worker
Victims of Domestic Violence Classes: 26 Weeks

Legal Assistance
Homeboy Industries offers limited legal assistance resources to Community Clients who are not part of the 18-month trainee program. These services can include counsel on issues ranging from Immigration to Family Law. Services are offered on a very limited basis. First come/first serve. Please note we do NOT offer criminal defense counsel. To find out if you qualify for assistance, please call our main number at (323) 526-1254 then ask for extension 325. Substance Abuse
For 18-month trainees, we operate a 6-month outpatient program in collaboration with Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Drug Abuse (L.A.CADA). To participate in this aspect of the program, you MUST have either Medi-Cal or another form of health insurance.
For Community Clients who are not part of our 18-month program, our substance abuse team operates primarily as a referral center. Meaning, we can advise you of resources around the city that can help meet your needs.
Please note, that we do NOT take appointments over the phone. The individual seeking direct assistance must come down in-person and speak to a member of our Substance Abuse team to receive support.
Additionally, we host the following weekly meetings which are open to the public: Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Call our main number for the current schedule. Click here to learn more about Homeboy’s substance abuse services.
Workforce Development
Our Workforce Development team assists Homeboy Industries’ trainees to identify and take steps towards employment opportunities beyond the 18-month program.
For Community Clients, who are not part of our 18-month program, our Workforce Development team operates primarily as a referral center, providing resumé support and leads to employment opportunities. For assistance, please visit our office during business hours.
