Meet Kelshae Gonzales

“I want to become an engineer. I feel like there are so many things that can be fixed, or at least made better, with technology.”

Kelshae Gonzales in in our 18-month program and has been working at Homeboy Recycling since October, where she tests and properly recycles LCD and TV screens. Alongside her work, Kelshae has also taken full advantage of our educational classes: a few weeks ago, she completed her high school diploma just 5 1/2 months after joining our program.

“I feel like I’m in school all over again— you know, like starting high school where you can be who you want to be. You don’t have to be this person that you’ve been… you can become the true essence of you.”
