One CLICK Can Help Create Jobs

We are thrilled to announce we are a finalist in the $100,000 My LA2050 Grants Challenge! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who voted for Homeboy as we create job opportunities for the formerly incarcerated. Wish us luck in the next phase of the selection process! Winners will be announced June 4th.

LA2050 is a community-guided initiative driving and tracking progress toward a shared vision for the future of Los Angeles. They’ve outlined an aspirational vision centered this grants challenge – an open call for ideas to make LA the best place to learn, create, play, connect, and live. The organizations with the most online votes in each category will go on to the next round. In the end, five organizations will each receive a total of $100,000 and partnership from LA2050 to support its efforts. 

If we win, this grant will support Homeboy’s work to make Los Angeles a better place to create job opportunities for the formerly incarcerated. The proposal focuses on how our healing centered 18-month program prepares our clients for employment in the LA area. We need lots of votes to get us to the next round and be one step closer to winning!
