Hope | Now More than Ever
As a community founded on the concept of kinship and compassion, Homeboy Industries stands as a beacon of hope for many in the Los Angeles community. Our constant refrain, “there is no us and them, only us,” is one that we embrace more than ever, during this extraordinary time.
Though our campus is off-limits in order to honor the need for social distancing and the safety of our community, our innovative team remains on the front lines of serving the most marginalized and demonized amongst us. With the enduring support of many, we pivoted to expand our service to the community amidst a pandemic by:
• transitioning our wrap-around services for clients to a virtual environment providing online classes, mental health, substance abuse, legal services and more to hundreds of program participants every week;
• converting two of our nine social enterprises (the Homegirl Café and Homeboy Catering) to emergency meal production centers to produce meals to the food insecure in the City and County; and
• serving as an emergency depot for those recently released from County jail in need by distributing clothing, hygiene kits and food.
We rely on the generosity of YOU, our dedicated donors, advocates and friends to support our mission, now more than ever, during this turbulent time. Please consider making a generous donation to allow us to continue to stand with those on the margins.
