Where do we go from here? We know for the people and communities we serve, there’s absolutely no going back to an old “normal,” and together, we must look forward with hope and in kinship toward a new paradigm. 

Please hold August 9, 10 and 11 for the 2021 Virtual Global Homeboy Network Gathering. 

The front doors at Homeboy Industries are swinging open widely again, with our focus being service and support to the trainees in our program and the clients we walk alongside. While this re-opening is an exciting step forward, we have decided that we will build on the online Gathering experience last year, allowing our doors to virtually (and safely) swing open to our partners from around the world who may not yet be able to travel to gather.

During the 2021 Virtual Gathering we will offer a few new ways to connect and interact with one another. Together, we will explore what “no going back” means from our perspective. We will explore:

• The successes and opportunities of delivering solid, culturally competent supportive services alongside workforce development and job training opportunities in social enterprise businesses to serve the whole person/worker.
• Our mandate of investing in emerging leaders who have lived experience and are credible witnesses as central to our theory of change, and transferring power to vulnerable communities.
• Art as a foundational tool for healing and transformation
• Models of advocacy led by clients that build power from within and its role in our work and organizations
