Marisela Gutierrez

Homegirl Hero

In 2016, Marisela Gutierrez connected with Homeboy Industries and started her journey of healing and changing the arc of her life after cycles of incarceration and substance use disorder. After completing the Homeboy Industries’ 18-month program and an internship at Project 180, a Los Angeles based comprehensive diversion and re-entry program for people involved in the criminal justice system, she joined the staff and thrives in her roles as co-worker, mentor, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. It is an honor to honor her as our 2022 Homegirl Hero.
